In this varied and challenging role, you’ll work closely with our Doctoral College and the Director of our INSPIRE Doctoral Training Programme to enhance our Diversity, Equality and Inclusion practice, and support our DEI goals. You’ll help us to develop best practice in outreach, recruitment and admissions, and liaise with our external partners and networks to identify new strategies for ensuring diverse, inclusive and representative cohorts of Doctoral researchers.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>About you</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You’ll focus on reviewing and assessing our current University postgraduate researcher data and recruitment practice (through the outreach, application and appointment process) to identify “bottlenecks” for the successful entry of students from UK BAME groups, and other currently under-represented groups, identify data recording and knowledge gaps, review best practice within and outside our Doctoral Training Programme networks, and recommend improvements in practice.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">On top of this, you’ll examine and review national sector best practice (and how this could be implemented at the University), and spend time with our Doctoral Training partners’ DEI leads/teams for a two-way dialogue - aiming to identify current best practice, and areas for enhancement of practice in both the University and the partner or paired organisation. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You’ll bring significant experience of process management and analysis, and data analysis skills, coupled with an ability to work and liaise with a range of internal and external partners. While a background in higher education is not essential, you’ll have a keen appreciation of current trends and issues.
