{"job":{"jobId":2483923,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":735,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Research Associate in Theoretical Particle Physics","description":"\n\nDepartment of Physics\nLocation: Egham\nSalary: £39,233 per annum - including London Allowance\nPost Type: Full Time\nClosing Date: 23.59 hours BST on Tuesday 15 August 2023\nReference: 0823-359\n\n\nFull Time, Fixed Term\n\n\nApplications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate in Theoretical Physics in the area of beyond the Standard Model and astroparticle physics, with an emphasis on the theory and phenomenology of dark matter, in particular focusing on the utilisation of novel Quantum Sensors to detect low mass dark matter states. A further focus is the development of the theory and phenomenology of possible new light particles including, for example, axions and axion-like-particles. \n\n\nYou should have a PhD in theoretical particle/astroparticle physics or a closely related subject. The position is available to start immediately and is fixed term for one year.\n\n\nThe position is funded by the project is “Quantum Sensors for the Hidden Sector” or <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://qshs.shef.ac.uk/\" rel=\"no-follow\" target=\"_blank\">QSHS</a>. The goal of the experiment is to search for axions and axion-like particles using advanced quantum electronics and quantum measurement techniques. The collaboration works with the Axion Dark Matter Experiment (ADMX), which currently leads the world in sensitivity to dark matter axions.
