AC2023/031/01)  \n\n\nProfessor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (Tenure-stream)\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>a PhD degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies;</li>\n<li>high potential in teaching and research;</li>\n<li>the ability to teach a wide range of courses, especially in core areas of T&amp;I studies, extensive experience with language service shall be favourably considered;</li>\n<li>preferably professional experience in language service provision;</li>\n<li>proficiency in Chinese and English.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\nCandidate for Full or Associate Professor post is expected to have demonstrated academic leadership and strong commitment to the highest standard of excellence. Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or tenure later subject to mutual agreement. Exceptionally, appointment with tenure can be offered forthwith to candidate of proven ability.\n\n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>teaching courses as prescribed in the programme curricular;</li>\n<li>developing cooperative relations with language service industries;</li>\n<li>assisting in curriculum development and administrative assignments.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\nTeaching-stream: Associate Professor (Teaching)/Assistant Professor (Teaching) /Lecturer\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>A PhD degree with a reputable university in Translation and Interpreting Studies or related areas;</li>\n<li>Abilities to teach a wide range of T&amp;I and related courses in both generic and discipline-specific areas, especially in 1) Translation in Finance and Trade; 2) Translation Technology; or 3) Conference Interpreting.</li>\n<li>Abilities to carry out independent research in teaching and related areas;</li>\n<li>Abilities for developing new courses and curricula for translation studies;</li>\n<li>Professional experience in language service provision.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Teaching a wide range of both generic or interdisciplinary courses for translation and interpreting studies at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;</li>\n<li>Making significant contributions to curricular development in translation studies;</li>\n<li>Active in pedagogical and other forms of research related to translator and interpreter training and/or language service provision;</li>\n<li>Contributing to the University and the general public with one’s skills and services.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\nSalary &amp; Benefits\n\n\nSalary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made under the establishment of CUHK, Shenzhen and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable in the People’s Republic of China. The appointee will be based at the University campus in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China.
