{"job":{"jobId":2487252,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":774,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Research Assistant","description":"\n\nDepartment : IVI Research Institute\nVacancy ID : 024301\nClosing Date : 10-Sep-2023\n\n\nMaynooth University is committed to a strategy in which the primary University goals of excellent research and scholarship and outstanding education are interlinked and equally valued.  \n\n\nWe are seeking a dynamic and self-driven research assistant to support the research and to develop education modules for teachers as part an European Funded ERASMUS+ CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECT, with six partner institutions from 4 countries (Albania, Ireland, Kosovo, Sweden): STEFORA – STEM For All  \n\n\nThe STEFORA project aims at sharing knowledge and experiences in terms of frameworks and empirical studies to investigate Generation Z’s enrolment and involvement in the development of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Specifically, the project looks at investigating ways to decreasing gender inequality in STEM fields. The project is a continuation of the project “Generation Z enters STEM: Diversity for a Sustainable Future” where diversity and gender equality were identified as topics of interest. Moreover, the project discovered what factors have influenced the choice of high school and university students to study STEM, their challenges while studying STEM, and their prospect for employment after graduation.  \n\n\nBased on that, STEFORA is designed with a holistic approach around three project objectives: (1) digital citizenship focusing on mitigating institutional barriers in terms of decreasing inequality in STEM, (2) apply universal design principles in formal and non-formal learning activities including premises to increase diversity and gender equality in STEM, and (3) adopt norm critical approaches to raise cultural awareness and foster gender sensitive education, in the target countries specific to STEM engagement for women.  \n\n\nWithin this project Maynooth University (MU) is responsible for contributing to all project tasks and specifically developing approaches and training materials related to (1) digital citizenship, focusing on mitigating institutional barriers. This task will particular focus on putting together teaching and education materials adhering to EU values to promote diversity, cultural awareness and eliminating gender stereotypes, through means of digital citizenship. Within the project, we will provide opportunities for training and exchange of good practices, tools and strategies between partner and programme countries part of the consortium.
