The work also includes teaching Russian language and linguistic courses in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Languages. The university lecturer is also required to conduct independent research in the field of Ukrainian and/or Russian language. The position also includes administrative tasks related to teaching and the university community in general.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><b>Requirements for the position and assessment of qualifications</b></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The appointee to the position must hold an applicable doctoral degree, to have the ability to provide research-based teaching of high quality and to supervise theses as well as ability to collaborate and plan.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The appointee to the position must have excellent knowledge of the Ukrainian and Russian languages. To successfully attend to the duties of the position, excellent knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of other Slavic languages and languages of the Department of Languages are considered as a merit. The appointee is required to be able to teach in Ukrainian and Russian as well as in Finnish or English.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Pursuant to the Government Decree on Universities (770/2009), appointees to teaching and research positions at the University must be proficient in the language in which they provide instruction. In addition, Finnish language skills is required in order to participate in the university community’s activities. If the appointee does not speak Finnish, it is expected that the appointee will acquire sufficient knowledge of Finnish within a reasonable period of time. Support for language studies is offered. Scholarly qualifications include scholarly publications and other research results of scholarly value. Teaching qualifications include teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce learning materials, other teaching merits and, if necessary, a teaching demonstration.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><b>What we offer</b></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The salary for the position will be based on levels 5-6(-7) of the job requirement scheme for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal performance. The gross annual salary is ca. €42,000–€56,000, depending on previous qualifications and experience.
