The SIS is dedicated to excellent research in the fields of world politics, international relations and national security and cultivating high-level talents engaging in the practices of international relations. The Faculty of SIS is comprised of PhDs from well-known universities around the world with diversified expertise ranging from international politics, global governance, IPE to cutting-edge IR issues.\n\n\nThe SIS has two departments: the Department of international politics and the Department of foreign affairs; three research platforms: the Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies, Huazhi Institute for Global Governance and Institute for Area Studies; and hosts the Journal of Asia-Pacific Security and Marine Affairs. The SIS has presided over and participated in a number of international cooperation projects and state-level research plans, and established partnerships and collaborations with highly prestigious universities around the world.\n\n\nII. Positions\n\n\nThe School of International Studies at Nanjing University invites applications of global young talents for tenure-track positions. In principle, posts of one Assistant Professor and two Associate Professors are to be filled. The positions for exceptionally outstanding high-level talents will be discussed case-by-case.\n\n\nRecruitment positions are opened for application in the following three fields:\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>International Relations (International Organizations)</li>\n<li>International Politics (Political Communication)</li>\n<li>International Politics (Area Studies)</li>\n</ol>\n\n\nIII. Qualifications\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;</li>\n<li>Abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity;</li>\n<li>Have a first-rate background in academic training—specifically, a PhD in relevant disciplines, experience in studying and/or working at first-rate teaching and research institutions, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research fields;</li>\n<li>Have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;</li>\n<li>Demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\nIV. Compensation Package and Support\n\n\nA successful applicant will be provided with:\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>An annual salary (to be worked out individually);</li>\n<li>A start-up fund for research;</li>\n<li>Qualification to supervise graduate students;</li>\n<li>The university provides short-term lodging and housing subsidies.
