The school has many collaborative research projects with other faculties, teaching hospitals, research institutes and the pharmaceutical industry.</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Sydney Pharmacy School, Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH), recently appointed Professor Christine Lu as the Chair of Clinical Pharmacy at the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD). Professor Lu conducts research and teaches on health care policy and practice in Australia and the US. The Faculty of Medicine and Health has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the NSLHD as a Research Fellow, to contribute to health policy and outcomes research with a focus on quality use of medicines. The Research Fellow will perform and manage research projects from their initial development through publication of findings in peer-reviewed journals.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Your key responsibilities will be to:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>lead or participate in medicines policy, pharmacoepidemiologic, comparative effectiveness, or outcomes research projects. Specific projects will be determined based on the Fellow's background and interests</li>\n<li>design, partake, and undertake medicines policy and outcomes research</li>\n<li>manage research projects, including liaison with project staff and data custodians, conduct data analysis of large-scale datasets to address relevant research questions, tracking performance against timelines and deliverables</li>\n<li>prepares manuscripts detailing research findings and submits to peer-reviewed journals.</li>\n<li>presents research findings within and outside of FMH.</li>\n<li>develop and submit grant proposals and applications, research protocols, analysis plans, ethics applications etc</li>\n<li>works closely with Prof Lu to monitor progress and resolve issues that arise during the course of the research.</li>\n<li>provide direction and mentorship to post-graduate students in the team</li>\n<li>seek out research synergies and network within and outside the NSLHD and FMH</li>\n<li>other duties and projects as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>About you</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>hold a PhD or equivalent post-graduate qualification (desirable to be in epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, or related fields)</li>\n<li>track-record in peer-reviewed publications (independently or as part of a team)</li>\n<li>demonstrated understanding of relevant research methods such as epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, economics</li>\n<li>demonstrated research experience in relevant fields with skills in managing data sets, ethics applications, and coordination of project-specific tasks</li>\n<li>demonstrated capacity to undertake high quality systematic reviews of the scientific literature</li>\n<li>proven ability and capability for using modern data-centric programming languages such as R, Stata or SAS</li>\n<li>proven ability to work both independently and manage time effectively, and as a member of a multidisciplinary research team</li>\n<li>excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n<li>high-level organisational skills and proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines., work within budgets</li>\n<li>experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">To keep our community safe, please be aware of our <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://www.sydney.edu.au/covid-19/health-safety/keeping-our-campus-covid-safe.html\" rel=\"no-follow\" target=\"_blank\">COVID safety precautions</a> which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Sponsorship / work rights for Australia</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Pre-employment checks</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
