The Office leads the development of innovations in partnerships with third party organisations and industry, and advances UWA’s short course and micro-credentials within the UWA Lifelong Learning and Continuing Education framework. The Office of Education Innovation and Enterprise also consolidates multiple initiatives with respect to experiential learning at curricula and co-curricular levels to develop an overall strategy for employability, and broader forms of career development initiatives through establishing and maintaining solid partnerships and engagement with Industry to stay abreast of skill requirements and resourcing needs.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>About the opportunity </strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">As the apointee you will, under broad direction, be responsibile for the operation of the Careers and Employability Centre, the Experiential Learning (including Work Integrated Learning) team, and for establishing the strategic direction of the service through development of an annual business plan with goals and strategies closely aligned with the Employability and Career Development framework. The Manager provides leadership and strategic advice on current and future directions of career development and employability and national and international labour markets.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Careers and Employability Centre – Strategic Leadership</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the unit to develop, coordinate and implement strategies for the delivery of careers and employment related services, to students, academic schools and employers</li>\n<li>Provide high level strategic advice to the Associate Director, Student Employability and Career Development and to the Director, Education, Innovation and Enterprise</li>\n<li>Provide leadership to faculties to inform development of their strategic planning for employability and graduate outcomes and the integration of careers education into academic programs</li>\n<li>Contribute to key University forums which address employability and employment outcomes</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Careers and Employability Centre – Educational and Advisory</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement delivery models that effectively manage high volume demand and optimise the use of specialist skills and knowledge of Careers and Employability Centre’ and WIL staff</li>\n<li>Manage and monitor the use of contemporary technologies and systems to further improve the Centre’s reach efficiency and effectiveness</li>\n<li>Coordinate and conduct research into relevant national and international careers and employment issues</li>\n<li>Develop close relationships and collaborate with key University stakeholders and provide professional advice to student societies, academic staff, employers of graduates and professional organisations</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Careers and Employability Centre - Staff and Unit Management</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Provide leadership to the Careers Centre team; coordinate team professional development and HR functions and determine priorities to deliver innovative and dynamic services to students</li>\n<li>Develop and implement evaluation and quality control mechanisms to ensure delivery of high quality services and resources</li>\n<li>Develop and implement strategies for income generation through the sale of services and products and negotiating sponsorship for projects</li>\n<li>Prepare budget submissions, approve and monitor all expenditure</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>General</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in and contribute to Education, Innovation and Enterprise activities, events and agreed projects</li>\n<li>Other duties as directed</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant postgraduate qualification in career development or equivalent competency</li>\n<li>Extensive experience in the strategic development and management of careers and employment services, preferably gained in a diverse organisation</li>\n<li>Extensive experience in high level management and leadership of a diverse team</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills specific to consultation, liaison, negotiation and client service with students and external stakeholders</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a budget</li>\n<li>Demonstrated commitment to excellence in the provision of services and the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement</li>\n<li>Highly developed skills in common software applications and website editing and an understanding of the use of social media for career development and recruitment</li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in analysis and interpretation of data to inform strategic planning</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Full details of the position's responsibilities and the selection criteria are outlined in the position description. The paper is written by students and mocks current events and political figures.
