The team falls within the remit of the Dean of Students and addresses concerns raised formally by students through the effective management and administration of student complaints, assessment appeals and student appeals processes and manages reported breaches of the Student Code of Conduct through the application of the Student Discipline Procedure.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">For each of these processes SECCA's functions include:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Student case management from initiation to completion.</li>\n<li>Provision of policy and procedural advice and guidance to staff and students.</li>\n<li>Provision of high-level secretariat and work programme support to the Academic Council Committee on Student Appeals and Complaints and (ACCSAC) and the Academic Council Committee on Student Conduct and Capacity (ACCSCC) including supporting the formal review of relate policies and procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">In addition to these functions, the team also provides direct support to the Dean of Students in relation to student engagement initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the student experience.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The primary focus of the role is to manage and oversee the student conduct process, ensuring the effective application of the Student Discipline Procedure and to contribute to the unit's student engagement project work. This new role offers an exciting opportunity for the post-holder to:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>support the University in upholding standards of student conduct;</li>\n<li>lead on initiatives and projects that have positive impacts for students;</li>\n<li>work collaboratively with senior academic and professional colleagues from across the University.
