You will lead data collection in case studies of paramedic services (collecting data from patients, carers and healthcare professionals) to examine different ways of delivering services and how these shape paramedic decision-making, management of risk and the quality of care provided. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>The role</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will join the team of this Marie-Curie funded project (a collaboration between the University of Southampton, University of the West of England and South East Coast Ambulance Service) to lead on all aspects of the case study research including project management, data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports and the writing of peer-reviewed journal publications. We are looking for a researcher with qualitative expertise to work with the Southampton team under the direction of Chief Investigator Dr Natasha Campling. You will be a member of the School’s programme of palliative and end-of-life research. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">This role is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis (although a job share would be considered). You will be able to work remotely if preferred, with the expectation that you are office-based at least one day a month.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>About you</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will have experience in health services research / related health or social science subjects, and have:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Experience of conducting interviews in sensitive areas and conducting research with vulnerable groups.</li>\n<li>Demonstrable qualitative and/or mixed methods research skills such as case study methods, interview methods and focus groups, and qualitative data analysis. </li>\n<li>Proven ability to organise a range of high-quality research or related project activities to deadline and quality standards.</li>\n<li>Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders and external partners. </li>\n<li>Experience of working with NHS sites, building and maintaining relationships with clinical and research staff, gaining required approvals and negotiating site access.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and paper writing skills, including published research. Track record of presenting to academic and non-academic audiences including at national and international conferences. </li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">It would be desirable if you had: </p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>PhD in a related field (health or within the social sciences).</li>\n<li>Knowledge, understanding and experience of research in the field of palliative and end-of-life care. </li>\n<li>Experience of interviewing patients and carers at end-of-life. </li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this role.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>About us</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The post holder will benefit from close support from the project team and School of Health Sciences’ Research Groups <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://www.southampton.ac.uk/about/faculties-schools-departments/school-of-health-sciences\" rel=\"no-follow\">https://www.southampton.ac.uk/about/faculties-schools-departments/school-of-health-sciences</a>.
