The applicant will be working in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment. Ideally possess background and/or expressed interest in working with environmental and plant-associated microbes. Opportunities for guided independent research projects may arise.\n\n\nThe main responsibilities of the positions include:\nGeneral:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Duties would be assigned (either Plant Cultivation or Microbiology) according to their skillsets and interests.</li>\n<li>General assistance with experimental planning, sample preparation, troubleshooting, and documentation.</li>\n<li>Evaluation of experimental results, reporting findings and discussing project outcomes with staff involved.</li>\n<li>Other duties to support research activities should they arise.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nExample Plant cultivation role:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Independently conduct and maintain plant cultivation experiments.</li>\n<li>Soil/plant/water sample processing for DNA extraction, metabolite analysis.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nExample Microbiology role:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Isolating and maintaining microbe cultures.</li>\n<li>Assist with preparing microbial cultures for plant experiments.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\nQualifications / Discipline:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Science, Microbiology or relevant field. </li>\n</ul>\n\n\nSkills:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient with basic Microsoft Suite, R software.
