It may be noted that English is the working language and the primary medium of instruction at UM.\n\n\nThe Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Chinese Education.\n\n\nThe Faculty of Education offers Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. programmes in various areas of education. The Faculty of Education strives to become a leading institution for teacher education and educational research in Macao, the Greater China Region, and beyond.\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\nApplicants should have: (a) a doctoral degree in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) with focus on the field/s of Chinese Language and/or Chinese Literature; (b) global reputation for excellence in research on Chinese Education (e.g., SSCI, SCI, A&amp;HCI, and CSSCI indexed journal publications), with the ability to take a leading role in developing and enhancing research and teaching in Chinese teachers’ education programme at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (c) quality teaching experience at the world-renowned university; (d) good knowledge of education systems of Macao and its neighbouring regions. The appointment at the rank of Full Professor or Associate Professor depends on qualification and achievements of the applicant, such as with national or international collaborative research profile in Chinese education and strong connection with scholars and practitioners in the field.\n\n\nThe selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2024.\n\n\nRemuneration\n\n\nA taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approximately USD149,420) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,019,200 (approximately USD125,830) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
