{"job":{"jobId":2494623,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":493,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering","description":"\n\nWork type: Full-time\nDepartment: Department of Mechanical Engineering (14500)\nCategories: Senior Research Staff &amp; Post-doctoral Fellow\n\n\nResearch Assistant Professor / Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 523386  )\n\n\nWe now invite applications for the captioned post.\n\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Driving research activities towards defined goals in specified timeline</li>\n<li>Processing in experimental data analysis and management</li>\n<li>Drafting proposals, reports and presentations relevant to the projects</li>\n<li>Liaising with project collaborators and partners</li>\n<li>Performing various laboratory administrative duties</li>\n<li>Supporting various laboratory’s events &amp; activities</li>\n<li>Handling other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s)</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A PhD degree in Solid Mechanics, Materials Science, Physics or related disciplines</li>\n<li>Preferably with research experience in experimental micro/nanomechanics, in situ electron microscopy (HRTEM), semiconductor physics, and mechanical metamaterials.</li>\n<li>With strong passion in conducting fundamental and applied research toward impactful applications</li>\n<li>Fluent in English in both writing and verbal communications; clear and concise writing skills</li>\n<li>Good time management with a strong sense of responsibility and research ethics</li>\n<li>Mature, self-motivated, confident and able to work under pressure</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n\nThe appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.\n\n\nA highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
