Currently, it has a total of around 80 full-time faculty members.  It is renowned for its research in Gerontological Nursing, Family and Community Health, Mental Health, Transitional Care and Integrative Digital Health.  Due to continuous success and increase in the number of students in postgraduate programmes and research centres of the School, there are several openings for qualified health professionals to join this dynamic and leading School of Nursing in Asia.  For more information about the University and the School of Nursing, please visit the websites <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://www.polyu.edu.hk/en/\" rel=\"no-follow\">https://www.polyu.edu.hk/en/</a> and <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://www.polyu.edu.hk/sn/\" rel=\"no-follow\">https://www.polyu.edu.hk/sn/</a>.\n\n\nGeneral Nursing in the School includes the following specialties:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Community Care</li>\n<li>Disaster Nursing Management</li>\n<li>Emergency / Critical Care Nursing</li>\n<li>Gerontological Nursing</li>\n<li>Health Innovation and Technology</li>\n<li>Infection Control</li>\n<li>Supportive and Palliative Care</li>\n<li>Surgical Nursing</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nProfessor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Nursing / Mental Health (several posts) (Ref. 231011011)\n\n\nThe appointee will be required to:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervise student projects and theses;</li>\n<li>conduct research that leads to publications in refereed journals and award of research grants;</li>\n<li>engage in applied research, creative development and consultancy projects in relation to health care related activities;</li>\n<li>contribute to the development of the School’s relevant research theme and participate in its activities;</li>\n<li>contribute to departmental activities and management;</li>\n<li>render professional service to the community and support activities that promote or foster links with the profession in the industry and/or in the community; and</li>\n<li>perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or his/her delegates.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\nApplicants should have:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>a PhD degree in Nursing or a relevant discipline with substantial years of relevant experience;</li>\n<li>professional qualifications registrable with The Nursing Council of Hong Kong;</li>\n<li>a substantial record and reputation as an accomplished teacher with significant contribution to curriculum development/review or teaching and learning processes;</li>\n<li>an established track record in research and scholarship, including refereed publications, external grants and postgraduate supervision; and</li>\n<li>demonstrated academic management and leadership capabilities.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nApplicants for appointment at Professor level should demonstrate a strong background in research in one of the school research themes with an international academic profile.  They should also demonstrate excellent international reputation in research and possess an excellent record of academic leadership and research scholarship, both in terms of publications and funded research.
