PolyU is a supportive and rigorous institution to pursue your academic ambitions on many fronts.  For further information, please visit the School’s website at <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://www.polyu.edu.hk/sft/\" rel=\"no-follow\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.polyu.edu.hk/sft/</a>.\n\n\nAssociate Professor / Assistant Professor in Fashion Business / Consumer Behaviour / Retailing / E‑Commerce / Technology Management (Ref. 231018015)\n\n\nThe appointee will be required to\n\n\n(a)   teach and contribute to curriculum development at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and supervise research students;\n\n\n(b)   initiate, lead and participate in research, consultancy and other scholarly activities leading to publications in refereed journals, and awards of research grants;\n\n\n(c)   undertake academic and departmental administrative duties; and\n\n\n(d)   perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his/her delegates.\n\n\nApplicants should have\n\n\n(a)   a PhD degree in Fashion Business Marketing, Consumer Studies, Psychology, Sociology or related disciplines;\n\n\n(b)   sound experience in university teaching and/or research/industrial experience in fashion retail operation, digital marketing, sustainability, data analytics in the fashion business, artificial intelligence technologies,  fashion trends or related areas;\n\n\n(c)   solid research and publication records in high-quality scholarly journals or strong potential to publish in top-tier refereed journals, as well as good potential in bidding for research grants and establishing significant externally funded research projects;\n\n\n(d)   strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and professional service; and\n\n\n(e)   excellent communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction. \n\n\nPreference will be given to those with strong research orientation, potential to publish in high quality scholarly journals and a good teaching record.  Applicants for appointment at Associate Professor level should have substantial years of relevant post-qualification experience and an excellent record of relevant academic and/or research achievement. \n\n\nApplicants with less experience will be considered for appointment as Assistant Professor.\n\n\nConditions of Service\n\n\nA highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor level.
