He/she will be an outstanding researcher in one of the areas of specialisation of the Melbourne Institute.\n\n\nThe incumbent will be expected to undertake scholarly research, both individually and jointly with colleagues, supervise and support research staff and doctoral candidates, participate in public discussion and evidence-based debate about important national issues, help to build the institute's international reputation and support network based on the quality and relevance of its research and be active in seeking contract and research funding from the government, community and the business sectors, and nationally competitive research grants including ARC and NH&amp;MRC grants.\n\n\nYou will possess;\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A PhD or equivalent in economics or related discipline</li>\n<li>Academic excellence and outstanding contribution to research in applied economics/econometrics in one of the areas of specialisation of the Melbourne Institute</li>\n<li>A strong record of publications, conference papers, reports and/or professional and/or technical contributions</li>\n<li>A strong track record of obtaining research funds - identify funding opportunities, especially from business and government, and pursuing those opportunities.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nFull list of the key search criteria can be found in the attached Position Description.\n\n\nAbout Us\n\n\nThe Melbourne Institute \n<a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://melbourneinstitute.unimelb.edu.au/about\" rel=\"no-follow\">https://melbourneinstitute.unimelb.edu.au/about</a>\n\n\nThe Melbourne Institute: Applied Economic &amp; Social Research [Melbourne Institute] is a research-only, academic department in the <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://fbe.unimelb.edu.au/\" rel=\"no-follow\">Faculty of Business and Economics</a> at the University of Melbourne.
