The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has identified an opportunity for candidates with expertise in specific areas of interest including:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Statistical signal processing</li>\n<li>Electrical grid dynamics (particularly with future grids)</li>\n<li>Photonic computing</li>\n<li>Intelligent and trusted wireless networks</li>\n<li>Information networks and health</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nOutstanding candidates undertaking research outside these areas that can demonstrate complementarity to the Department’s existing research group activity will also be considered.\n\n\nAs the successful appointee, you will make a significant contribution to the teaching, research and administration of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. You will teach in graduate and undergraduate programs and take on administrative roles commensurate with the position.\n\n\nYou will be an aspiring leader in research, with ambition to publish in high quality journals and conferences, mentor research students and secure independent grant funding to support a program of research.\n\n\nActive collaboration with other research groups in the School and the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology is encouraged, as is interaction with industry and government agencies.\n\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate and conduct lectures and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including engagement in teaching innovation and improvement; </li>\n<li>Provide a significant degree of scholarly research initiative and collaboration in the discipline of electrical and electronic engineering</li>\n<li>Build and foster partnerships with industry, government, collaborators at other Universities and other stakeholders that contribute to the engagement of teaching and research in the wider community engagement;</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nWho We Are Looking For\n\n\nWe’re looking for people who demonstrate strong disciplinary knowledge, excellent communication and engagement skills, the ability to work collaboratively and engage positively with colleagues and stakeholders and are highly motivated to undertake high-quality research.\n\n\nYou will also have:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A PhD in electrical and electronic engineering, or equivalent;</li>\n<li>A track record of quality research as evidenced by research publications in leading journals and conferences commensurate with opportunity;</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to perform independent research and a commitment to interdisciplinary research;</li>\n<li>Capacity to teach effectively across a range of subjects, including the capacity to develop and deliver seminars and lectures and contribute to other teaching activities;</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nFor further information regarding responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the attached PD.\n\n\nThis position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.\n\n\nPlease note: Visa sponsorship is available for this position.\n\n\nYour New Team – School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering\n\n\nThe School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering (EMI) undertakes teaching and research across a range of disciplines that are internationally recognised for their contribution to fundamental research.
