{"job":{"jobId":2497771,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":491,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Lecturer in Japanese Studies","description":"\n\nLocation: Parkville \nRole type: Full-time; Continuing  \nFaculty: Arts \nDepartment/School: Asia Institute  \nSalary: Level B– $114,645 – $136,136 p.a. plus 17% super \n\n\nJoin one of the oldest and biggest Japanese Studies academic programs of its kind in Australia.\n\n\nContribute to coordinating and/or leading the activities of other academics through professional practice and expertise!\n\n\nSalary packaging, subsidised health and wellbeing services, fitness and cultural clubs, Myki discounts, and a 25% discount on graduate courses to our staff and their immediate families!\n\n\nAbout the Role\n\n\nThe Japanese Studies Program at the University of Melbourne is one of the oldest and biggest academic programs of its kind in Australia, teaching language, society and culture. As a Teaching Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate teaching activities such as lectures and tutorials and for the preparation and delivery of these classes around Japanese language subjects.\n\n\nYour role reports to the Program Convenor in Japanese Studies.\n\n\nYour responsibilities will include: \n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Subject (module) coordination duties including the development of Learning Management System sites and subject guides, preparing and marking assessments, selecting and supervising tutors, recording/reporting component and final results.</li>\n<li>Subject delivery, including preparing and conducting lectures, tutorials and seminars;</li>\n<li>Curriculum design and innovation, including cross-disciplinary approaches. </li>\n<li>Development of technology-based teaching, learning and assessment programs and resources. </li>\n</ul>\n\n\nWho We Are Looking For\n\n\nWe are seeking a highly committed and engaging educator who has demonstrated experience in teaching at the tertiary level. You will have the opportunity for professional development to conduct scholarly activity or academic research that informs and enhances your teaching throughout your role.
