As well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the School supports an active research program.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The School offers an undergraduate major in Philosophy and contributes a significant amount of the curriculum in the Bachelor of Human Rights and the Bachelor of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. The philosophy discipline group, itself, houses a diverse range of scholars with specialisations including (though not limited to) the philosophy of mind, moral and political philosophy, and comparative philosophy.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>About the opportunity</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The successful applicant will undertake independent teaching in the area of Philosophy. Key responsibilities will include tutorial teaching, lecturing, unit coordination, and student supervision in collaboration with colleagues and under the direction of the Head of School of Humanities. The applicant must be motivated to contribute to the academic environment of the School and have a strong teaching portfolio relative to opportunity within Philosophy.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The applicant will teach across a wide range of areas, with a general (though not exclusive) focus upon topics in moral and political philosophy, broadly construed. Suitable areas of teaching competency include: applied ethics, bioethics, critical thinking, decision theory, epistemology, ethical theory, feminist philosophy, metaethics, the philosophy of economics, political philosophy, and/or rational choice theory (though note that the successful applicant need not be competent in all these areas). The paper is written by students and mocks current events and political figures.
