At Translational Mechanobiology Laboratory, we are interested in the knowledge and technologies that enhance our ability to model micro-physiological and disease processes in vitro. We apply these knowledge and technologies into diagnostic, therapeutic and toxin testing applications, more information on the lab is available at <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://hanrylab.med.nus.edu.sg/\" rel=\"no-follow\">https://hanrylab.med.nus.edu.sg/</a>. Appointments will be made on a 1-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.\n\n\nPurpose of the post\nThe Research Fellow (RF) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the research project on time. The RF’s principal role will be leading the research project, conducting experiments, performing data analysis, writing progress reports.\n\n\nMain Duties and Responsibilities\nThe Research Fellow will lead the research project, conduct experiments, do data analysis, write progress reports and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RF will be able to:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and oversee the research project;</li>\n<li>Conduct research on investigating the role of bile acids in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and insulin resistance</li>\n<li>Perform cell culture, functional assays, immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy imaging</li>\n<li>Assist other research projects on mechanobiology; liver tissue engineering; biomaterials and imaging</li>\n<li>Assist in laboratory safety</li>\n<li>Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nQualifications\nThe applicant should:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>PhD in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or similar fields from highly reputable universities or institutes</li>\n<li>Excellent cell culture techniques – cell lines, stem cells and organoid culture preferred</li>\n<li>Standard biological (molecular and biochemical) assays; immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy and analyses</li>\n<li>Track record of scholarly productivity such as publications, patents and conference presentation</li>\n<li>Evidence of being responsible and taking initiative to solve complex problems</li>\n<li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nApplication\nRemuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
