The position is for two years, with the hope of extending for another year subject to funding. Candidates with strong track records in field theory, string theory and related areas are encouraged to apply. Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in the University. The position involves working with members of the Maths CPT group and independently to further our research in this area.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The position is a Senior Research Associate within the Maths CPT group. Interaction and exchanges of ideas will take place mainly with the members of this group and occasionally with other members of the Departments of Mathematical Sciences or Physics.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>To play an active role in our research activity in quantum field theory, working with members of the research group and independently.</li>\n<li>To understand and convey material of a specialist or highly technical nature to the team or group of people through presentations and discussions that leads to the presentation of research papers in conferences and publications.</li>\n<li>To carry out first class research and present his/her work at seminars, both internally and externally, and at international conferences, and will publish its results in international scientific journals and open access electronic archive.</li>\n<li>To conduct individual and collaborative research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator or Grant-holder.</li>\n<li>To deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines by discussing with the Principal Investigator or Grant-holder and offering creative or innovative solutions.</li>\n<li>To liaise with research colleagues and make internal and external contacts to develop knowledge and understanding to form relationships for future research collaboration.</li>\n<li>To plan and manage own research activity, research resources in collaboration with others and contribute to the planning of research projects.</li>\n<li>To assist with the development of research objectives and proposals.</li>\n<li>To work with the Principal Investigator or Grant-holder and other colleagues in the research group, as appropriate, to identify areas for research, develop new research methods and extend the research portfolio.</li>\n<li>To deliver training in research techniques/approaches to peers, visitors and students as appropriate.</li>\n<li>To be involved in student supervision, as appropriate, and assist with the assessment of the knowledge of students.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>The post is fixed term for 2 years; funding is available for this fixed period only.</strong></p>\n\n\n","pdfUrl1":null,"location":"Durham, United Kingdom","location1":"유럽","location2":null,"location3":null,"type":"2","applyUrl":"https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=bGlseS5yeWRlci44NDA0Ny44NzgxQGR1cmhhbS5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20","fileUrl1":null,"fileUrl2":null,"fileUrl3":null,"fileUrl4":null,"fileUrl5":null,"fileUrl6":null,"fileUrl7":null,"workingHour":"Full Time","contractType":"Fixed Term","salary":"£37,099 - £44,263 per annum","original_id":"UNI|356970","original_domain":"timeshighereducation.com","original_url":"https://www.timeshighereducation.com/unijobs/listing/356970","original_isPremium":null,"closeType":1,"closedAt":"2024-01-09T00:00:00.000Z","requireEducation":10,"managerTel":null,"managerFax":null,"managerEmail":null,"managerName":"DURHAM UNIVERSITY","managerPhone":null,"managerAddress":"Durham, United Kingdom","log_hit":0,"log_like":0,"publishState":1,"organizationName":null,"organizationName_en":null,"organizationName_alt":null,"del_yn":"N","createdAt":"2023-11-02T16:19:25.000Z","updatedAt":"2023-11-02T16:19:25.000Z"},"organization":{"organizationId":588,"lv1Id":null,"lv2Id":null,"name":"Durham University","name_en":"Durham University","name_alt":null,"introduction":"<p>Durham’s University College was founded in 1832 before it was granted a Royal Charter in 1837 by King William IV, making it Durham University.</p><p>It is a Russell Group institution with a staff count of over 3,000, more than 30 per cent of whom are of non-UK origin. Symbolic of its international approach, the university welcomes over 4,500 international students from 156 countries worldwide.</p><p> </p><p>Durham University attracts around 17,500 students of all levels.
