{"job":{"jobId":2499624,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":483,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Wang Gungwu Professor on East Asian Affairs","description":"\n\nJob Description\n\n\nThe Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore is seeking applicants for the Wang Gungwu Professor on East Asian Affairs at both associate professor and full professor rank.\n\n\nThe Wang Gungwu Professorship honours Professor Wang Gungwu, one of Asia's most distinguished scholars, who served as Chairman of the Governing Board of the LKY School from 2004 to 2017. \n\n\nThe Wang Gungwu Professor will be a core member of the School’s academic leadership team, working with an interdisciplinary faculty to advance the research and teaching missions of the School.\n\n\nThe successful candidate will be a current associate or full professor of history or in the related social sciences, with the following expertise and experience:  \n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A record of influential scholarship in East and/or Southeast Asian Affairs, including publications at the highest levels (top university presses or leading journals);</li>\n<li>A sustained record of outstanding teaching at the graduate level;</li>\n<li>Experience in academic and research leadership;</li>\n<li>A proven track record and interest in working collaboratively with faculty and staff to pursue sources of external research funding;</li>\n<li>Engagement with policy and research communities in Asia and around the world.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nThe Wang Gungwu Professor will:  \n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Advance the research profile of the School through outstanding publications on contemporary East and/or Southeast Asian affairs; </li>\n<li>Shape the content and strategic direction of the various degree programs offered by the School;</li>\n<li>Mentor junior faculty and advise Masters and PhD students;</li>\n<li>Share responsibility with other senior faculty members on School/University committees and other administrative and supervisory assignments (including hiring committees, grant review committees, and ad hoc committees).</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nThe Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is an autonomous, professional graduate school of the National University of Singapore (NUS).
