We invite you to join our dynamic team and contribute to the cutting-edge research that is transforming agriculture and natural environment management.\n\n\nWe are seeking talented individuals to join our robotics team, where we are pushing the boundaries of technology to revolutionise field robotics and AI for applications in agriculture, landcare, forestry, and natural hazard management. Our projects are driven by a collaborative spirit, involving agriculture and environmental scientists, government agencies, and industry partners. Together, we are working towards autonomous precision farming and environment stewardship.\n\n\nIn this role you will:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>innovate algorithms: design and develop innovative algorithms that drive automated precision agriculture and environment management using our state-of-the-art field robots. Harness machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, and data fusion methodologies to extract valuable insights about the environment and farming operations</li>\n<li>enhance robot capabilities: collaborate closely with our team to refine the sensing and actuation capabilities of our field robots. Engage in sensor and actuator integration, calibration, and validation processes to ensure our robots are equipped to act intelligently in the most demanding tasks</li>\n<li>field trials: conduct repeatable field experiments and validation studies on farms and in natural environments. These trials, spanning multiple days per session, are vital to assessing the performance and effectiveness of your research. Collaborate with agricultural and environmental scientists to validate and compare research-derived insights</li>\n<li>publish and present: share your groundbreaking research. Publish research papers and technical reports in high-impact journals, and present your work at conferences, workshops, and industry events, contributing to the global discourse on robotics and environmental management</li>\n<li>mentorship: provide guidance and mentorship to graduate students and junior researchers who are also passionate about advancing our mission.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nAbout you\n\n\nThe University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity.
