{"job":{"jobId":2500030,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":483,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Research Assistant (Intervention Coach)","description":"\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Job Description</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant (SINGER study research operation) in the Department of Pharmacology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Our academic and research staff have outstanding research publication and grant funding track records in research areas such as cancer pharmacology, neuropharmacology, immunopharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and drug discovery and development. Pharmacology is the anchoring department for the Drug Discovery and Optimisation Platform (DDOP), Memory Aging Cognitive Centre (MACC) at NUHS, and the NUS Neuroscience Phenotyping Core (NPC). The Department also has a strong presence in University-level research institutes including the Cancer Science Institute (CSI), and the Life Sciences Institute (LSI) Neuroscience and Immunology Programs. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Appointments will be made on a 1 year- contract basis with option to renew.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><b>Purpose of the post</b></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">To assist investigators in conducting a large-scale lifestyle intervention study according to study protocol, Singapore Guideline for Good Clinical Practice (SGGCP) and other applicable regulatory and ethical requirements as well as institutional policies.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Main Responsibilities and Duties (80%)</p>\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct lifestyle intervention with elderly research participants, which include: conducting exercise classes remotely via zoom or in person at the gym; deliver workshops on topics of cognitive health and nutrition; schedule appointments with research participants to attend the intervention sessions, including technical support with subjects on the use of tablet and zoom.</li>\n<li>Refine / optimize the protocols/materials for interventions.</li>\n<li>Train other staff members to conduct or support interventions.</li>\n<li>Support the development and preparation of materials and contents for the interventions.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Main Duties and Responsibilities (80%)</p>\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Perform other delegated procedures and data collection as required by the study protocol.</li>\n<li>Maintain the research database and various operationally related tracking logs.</li>\n<li>Monitor and maintain participants’ compliance to the intervention.</li>\n<li>Maintain confidentiality on participants’ data.</li>\n<li>Provide regular updates to investigators and manager(s) for study-related issues.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Support the study team with recruitment and other procedures.</li>\n<li>Support data analysis and manuscript writing.</li>\n<li>Compliance with the SGGCP and other applicable regulatory and ethical requirements as well as hospital policies, if applicable.</li>\n<li>Assist the Principal Investigator in applying to the NHG Domain Specific Review Board (DSRB) or Institutional Review Board (IRB) for ethics review and to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for clinical trial certificates (if required).</li>\n<li>Clinical research administration (if required).</li>\n<li>Ad-hoc projects as assigned by the PI/Manager.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><b>Qualifications</b></p>\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Qualification: Degree in Physiotherapy or Sports, Nutrition, Psychology or relevant fields are welcome.</li>\n<li>Experience or interest in conducting lifestyle intervention with seniors.</li>\n<li>Able to work independently and meticulously.</li>\n<li>Good written and communication skills.</li>\n<li>Bilingual - Besides English, a good command of Mandarin is preferred as many of our elderly participants speak only Mandarin. Other common Chinese dialects will be an added advantage.</li>\n<li>Possess strong interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>Flexibility to work on weekends (if needed. i.e for outreach events).</li>\n<li>Team player.</li>\n</ol>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Application</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
