It may be noted that English is the working language and the primary medium of instruction at UM.\n\n\nThe Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS)/State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (QRCM) invites applications for the position of Chair/Distinguished/Full Professor, who will also be a joint faculty member in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Faculty of Health Science, in the following disciplines:\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Pharmacology and Therapeutics </li>\n<li>Immunology and Microbiology</li>\n<li>Drug Discovery and Development</li>\n<li>Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Studies</li>\n<li>Biological Science and Technology</li>\n<li>Quality Research of Chinese Medicine (including Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Standardization)</li>\n</ol>\n\n\nEstablished in 2002, ICMS is an academic centre of excellence in Chinese medicine as well as biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in the region. It hosts the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, as well as Macau Centre for R&amp;D in Chinese Medicine, UM Centre for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, UM Macau Centre for Testing of Chinese Medicine and Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Over the past decade, the Institute has established an international reputation in conducting high-quality research with special emphasis on Chinese medicine quality research, drug discovery and development, immunopharmacology, systems pharmacology, molecular pharmaceutics and regulatory sciences. It has secured outstanding funding support from both national and regional governments and built long-term strategic collaborations with top academic organizations around the world. More details about the Institute are available at <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://sklqrcm.um.edu.mo/\" rel=\"no-follow\" target=\"_blank\">https://sklqrcm.um.edu.mo/</a>.\n\n\nQualifications\n\n\nApplicants should possess PhD/MD degree in Chinese medicine, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences or related disciplines, research experience from globally renowned universities, and should have a distinguished track record of internationally-recognized research publications.\n\n\nThe selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2024/2025.\n\n\nRemuneration\n\n\nA taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approximately USD149,420) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
