{"job":{"jobId":2508398,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":483,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Research Assistant (Instrumentation)","description":"\n\nJob Description\n\n\nRESEARCH ASSISTANT / RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (INSTRUMENTATION)\n\n\nThe Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) invites applicants for the above posts.\n\n\nDUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Regular field trips onboard research vessels that may extend outside conventional office hours</li>\n<li>Co-ordination of field trips, logistics and pre-field preparation</li>\n<li>Operating of equipment for field work on research vessels</li>\n<li>General maintenance of laboratories and equipment, duties including equipment troubleshooting with R &amp; D engineers and vendors as well as performing scheduled preventive maintenance, equipment set-up and calibration</li>\n<li>Developing and managing standard operating protocols, risk assessments, equipment maintenance documentations</li>\n<li>Post-processing of data collected</li>\n<li>Data entry, statistical analysis, interpretation and report writing</li>\n<li>Purchasing of consumables and equipment</li>\n<li>General administrative duties</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent</li>\n<li>Meticulous</li>\n<li>Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills</li>\n<li>Resourcefulness, independence and ability to learn fast</li>\n<li>Ability to work outside conventional working hours, when required</li>\n<li>Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g. Word and Excel)</li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills in English</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nMore Information\n\n\nSalary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
