{"job":{"jobId":2509487,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":494,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Research Associate on Multiwinner Voting and Participatory Budgeting","description":"\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The Department of Informatics is looking to appoint a motivated Research Associate to conduct research on multiwinner voting and participatory budgeting.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">This research is led jointly by Maria Polukarov (King’s College London) and Edith Elkind (Oxford). The primary goal of the project is to contribute to the research agenda on multiwinner voting and participatory budgeting, with a focus on fairness, robustness and decision-making over time. The Research Associate will be based at KCL and will work directly with Dr Maria Polukarov and members of her group.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The successful candidate must hold a PhD or DPhil in computer science, mathematics or related discipline (candidates who are close to completing their doctoral degree will be considered) and have experience with algorithmic game theory or computational social choice.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">It is expected that the post holder will manage their own research and administrative activities, develop and manage research projects as part of the overall agenda for the project, contribute to wider project planning, including ideas for new research projects, contribute to scientific reports and journal articles and the presentation of papers at conferences and workshops, as well as meetings with the project partners and/or wider audiences.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Whilst the role is at Grade 6 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 5 (step 25 £37,332 to step 30 £42,099 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance) with a title of Research Assistant and the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at the interview or during the appointment process, where appropriate.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">We particularly welcome applications from women and ethnic or other minority applicants who are currently under-represented within the Department of Informatics.
