We welcome applications from those with research and teaching interests in the broad field of Roman archaeology with a focus on Britain and/or the western provinces of the Roman Empire. We particularly welcome applications from researchers working on aspects of the northern frontiers and from those with experience of running fieldwork projects and a willingness to engage with the Department's annual field school.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The successful candidate will contribute to the recruitment and supervision of PhD students working on Roman topics and develop strong research collaborations with colleagues at Durham (in Archaeology and other departments), nationally and internationally, leading to grant-funded projects and world-class publications. The postholder will be involved in teaching at all levels, offering our students an exceptional educational experience.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The successful candidate will be expected to engage fully in the services, citizenship and values of the University. Symbolic of its international approach, the university welcomes over 4,500 international students from 156 countries worldwide.</p><p> </p><p>Durham University attracts around 17,500 students of all levels.
