Our mission is to advance peacebuilding and conflict prevention in the Indo-Pacific region through innovative research, engagement, and education.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will contribute to one of the Initiative’s two main research streams: (1) enhancing the role of conflict prevention and peacebuilding in Australian foreign policy, and (2) innovations in advancing knowledge and practice in peacebuilding.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will help shape these critical areas and support the Initiative's broader objectives from an Australian non-government perspective through a program of research, training, and engagement activities.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Your responsibilities will include:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Research leadership to progress one of the Initiative’s two main research streams: (1) to enhance the role of conflict prevention in Australian foreign policy and (2) innovations in Peacebuilding</li>\n<li>Develop major research proposals and lead collaborative research</li>\n<li>Engage and assist in the development of seminars and conferences, in line with the Initiative’s engagement priorities</li>\n<li>Make a contribution to developing networks within the discipline and with other academics, institutions, practitioners and communities, both nationally and internationally, to support collaboration and the efforts of the Initiative for Peacebuilding</li>\n<li>Cooperative collaboration of associated activities with the Co-Directors</li>\n<li>Active engagement in service, leadership and coordination roles appropriate to this position demonstrating respectful, inclusive behaviours at all times and building trust amongst colleagues </li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Who We Are Looking For</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The ideal candidate will have experience in peace and conflict studies, a strong track record of publications and research projects, and a background in collaborative research.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">They will be able to work independently, manage competing demands, and prioritise tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Self-directed in managing work assignments, the candidate will also demonstrate professionalism in interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will also have:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies or a related discipline</li>\n<li>A research profile, with a focus on issues relating to peacebuilding, including a publication track record commensurate with the level of appointment</li>\n<li>Capacity for multidisciplinary research and/or the willingness to engage in cross-disciplinary environments </li>\n<li>Demonstrated capacity for collaborative research</li>\n<li>Capacity to work effectively with both Academic and Administrative / Professional staff</li>\n<li>A capacity to support and develop strategic engagement activities, including the willingness and capacity to participate in public events</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work in a team</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the attached PD.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><em>This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.</em></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
