This brand new role will be integral to the proactive and whole university approach to wellbeing that Surrey has in it’s strategic direction. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Role & Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">As a Student Wellbeing Advisor at the University of Surrey, your core objective is to provide holistic support and guidance to students, promoting their mental health, emotional wellbeing, and overall resilience.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will play a vital role in fostering a culture of wellbeing across the university community by offering personalised advice, resources, and interventions to help students navigate the challenges they may encounter during their academic journey.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Through one-on-one support, workshops, and outreach activities, you will empower students to develop coping strategies, build resilience, and access appropriate support services.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Responsibilities include: </p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Provide confidential and non-judgmental support to students facing mental health, emotional, or personal challenges through one-on-one meetings, actively listening to their concerns, and offering practical advice and resources.</li>\n<li>Respond promptly and effectively to students experiencing crises or emergencies, providing immediate support, referrals to appropriate resources, and follow-up care as necessary to ensure their safety and well-being.</li>\n<li>Develop and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and awareness-raising activities on topics related to mental health, stress management, resilience-building, and self-care to promote well-being across the university community.</li>\n<li>Engage in outreach initiatives and awareness campaigns to promote mental health literacy, reduce stigma surrounding mental illness, and encourage help-seeking behaviours among students.</li>\n<li>Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including academic departments, other support services and community organisations.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Your dedication to promoting wellbeing will contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive campus environment where all students can thrive academically, personally, and socially.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>What’s in it for you?</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">We think Surrey is an amazing place to work, and we are a flexible, and fun place to work and thrive. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Our campus is a beautiful, leafy environment with carefully designed gardens, vibrant green playing fields, and a picturesque lake.
