Nudges can lead to altered behaviour by structuring the choice task differently or presenting the choices in a different way and are being used across a wide range of decision contexts. Using principles of behavioural science, the post holder will design behavioural nudges that will: (1) create awareness of conditions that challenge the mental well-being of older people; (2) prompt older people to recognise, record and track the leading indicators (early warning signals); (3) use a tracking app to closely monitor the changes in mental well-being, enabling pattern recognition and predictive systems to be built so as to enable preventive action; (4) effectively lead the older adults to seek advice for potential conditions; (5) examine the role of trust in seeking and receiving mental well-being advice; and (6) investigate the adoption of digital technologies and counteracting digital distrust in older adults.
\n
We encourage applications from individuals who meet the eligibility criteria published at https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/research/postgraduate-research-degrees/how-to-apply/.
