Do you have experience of managing external stakeholders and relationships? </strong></p>\n<p>The FAAM large atmospheric research aircraft (ARA) is a unique, highly modified 4-engine jet aircraft adapted to carry a highly specialised science payload. The payload is extensively reliant on state-of-the-art scientific instrumentation, often uniquely customised for use on the FAAM aircraft. All the science instrumentation and electronics is certified under CAA regulations to be safe for aviation applications in a safety-critical environment.</p>\n<p>This role is based at Cranfield Airport in Bedfordshire, where <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://www.faam.ac.uk/\" rel=\"no-follow\">FAAM</a> provides a specially adapted research aircraft managed by a unique team of scientists, engineers, flight technicians and project managers forming a complete package of support for the scientific community. </p>\n<p>As Projects and Systems Engineer you will have an exciting and varied role. You will be expected to understand and lead the maintenance of the complex science systems on the FAAM aircraft, support the operational team managing logistical and other requirements, and help co-ordinate daily aircraft activity. You will also have the key responsibility for co-ordinating projects involving aircraft and science modification.</p>\n<p>The ARA's measurement and operational capabilities are continually evolving, and you will manage this modification process effectively, against both time and budget constraints. You role will be central to the process of managing individual installations on the aircraft and as such you will need to be an effective communicator capable of co-ordinating a range of stakeholders from inside and outside the organisation. </p>\n<p>You will hold a degree or equivalent in a science, earth science or engineering subject and have experience working on aircraft observational platforms. You will be organised, technically aware, and able to deliver multiple projects simultaneously to tight timescales and budgets.
