Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject of engineering, excellent communication skills and have experience of teaching along with a research or industrial background.</p>\n<p>Successful candidates for this post will have BEng or MEng in Mechanical engineering (or equivalent in a similar subject) and a PhD in a subject relating to mechanical engineering, or equivalent industrial experience.</p>\n<p>They should also be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills, including the capability to motivate and support students and an ability to contribute to new course developments.</p>\n<p>The role will involve teaching, research and knowledge transfer, contributions to new developments growing out of our existing courses mechanical engineering and support for the development/use of distance learning and innovative teaching methods within the School.</p>\n<p>The successful candidate will have prior experience in teaching in higher education to first degree level and also display the potential to engage in internationally competitive academic research and/or support clients who are industrial partners of the Engineering Innovation Centre. Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas and to participate in marketing events and outreach activities are essential.</p>\n<p>Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview.
