You are expected to perform theoretical and numerical studies of wakefield acceleration and radiation generation. Your research will complement and support current activities on wakefield acceleration and radiation generation at the two Institutes. In particular, it is foreseen that you will be involved in future experimental campaigns at the Cockcroft Institute.\n \nWe seek a Research Associate with a solid background on numerical plasma physics. You should have experience in carrying out simulations based on the particle-in-cell method. Previous experience in modelling laser-plasma interaction experiments constitutes a plus.\n \nYou will join and collaborate with a team of researchers in laser-plasma interaction, accelerator physics and engineering. You will be based at Lancaster University and will be expected to undertake travel to the Cockcroft Institute (STFC Daresbury National laboratory).\n \nYou should have or be about to receive a PhD in accelerator, plasma or high energy physics. You should have excellent written and verbal communication.\n \nThis is a fixed term appointment for 12 months and must start by 1 April 2020 at the latest.
