The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Kyoto Institute of Technology is seeking to appoint one associate professor specializing in economics who can analyze human economic activity from a broad, global perspective and gain insight into current trends in the international community.

Work in:
- Research: Advancing specialized research in the field of economics
- University administration and Community Engagement:
- Participation in various university and departmental committees; administrative and management duties
- Duties related to student admissions (entrance examinations)
Subjects to be taught:
- Lectures (including seminars) in the undergraduate program (program-wide Subjects) on topics such as “Economics,” “Introductory Economics,” and “Society and the Economy”
- Responsible for lectures on specialized graduate-level courses, as well as research supervision and thesis advising

- KIT has adopted a system that allows Principal Investigators (PIs) to charge a portion of their personnel expenses to the direct costs of competitive research funding, in accordance with their research effort.
Under this system, PIs (Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators) may, upon request, charge their personnel expenses to the direct costs of competitive research funds in proportion to the effort devoted to research activities.
The funds thereby made available may be used at the PI's discretion, including as a salary supplement. The total amount that may be paid in a single fiscal year, however, is limited to 60% of the PI's annual salary.

Education and Degree Requirements
Ph.D. / Doctor
The applicant must be a researcher with a doctoral degree.
Work experience
- High proficiency in Japanese, sufficient for fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.
- The applicant should have a distinguished record of achievement in research and teaching in the applicant's field, and should have a strong commitment to both research and teaching.
